Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Barasch was an attorney with her own practice, Maxine Barasch & Associates, PLLC, in Albany, NY, for four years, as well as having worked at Mark Levy & Associates, PLLC in Binghamton, NY.

Ms. Barasch is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of New York State, the Federal District Court for the Northern District of New York, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She has been inducted into the National Order of the Barristers for excellence in courtroom advocacy.

Hunter E. Webb, Esq.
Partner

Hunter Webb is a Partner at Keohane & D’Alessandro, PLLC. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Webb was a Member at Hoffman Warnick, PLLC in Albany, New York. Mr. Webb’s practice is currently focused on patent preparation and prosecution. Technology areas of expertise include software and computer-implemented inventions, cloud computing technology, microelectronics and hardware, and mechanical technologies.

Mr. Webb’s technical experience includes previous employment with Texas Instruments, Inc., as a business programmer/analyst, where he twice won awards for technological improvement of the quarter, and an internship with DSC Communications (now Alcatel-Lucent). Hunter also interned with Texas Supreme Court Justice Raul Gonzales while in law school.

Mr. Webb is licensed to practice in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office; in the states of Texas and Massachusetts; and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. Currently, he serves on the Board of the Eastern New York Intellectual Property Law Association (ENYIPLA).

Michael Kahn
Patent Agent

Michael Kahn focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution in electronics, computer systems and methods, and software applications.

Mr. Kahn has industry experience in a variety of industries, including defense, robotics, and networked multimedia applications. He has been a patent agent since 2003. He is also an FAA licensed pilot.

He previously served as a volunteer law clerk for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic and as a systems consultant for American United Life Insurance Co., both in Indianapolis, IN.

Prior to joining Keohane & D’Alessandro, PLLC full-time, Ms. Schiesser was a Special Projects Consultant with the New York State Science and Technology Law Center at Syracuse University College of Law. While at Syracuse University, Ms. Schiesser focused her studies on Technology Commercialization Law and published a paper on the Hatch-Waxman Act in the Syracuse Journal of Science and Technology Law.

Madeline Schiesser focuses her practice on patent preparation and prosecution in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device areas. She is also a skilled patent searcher.

Ms. Schiesser is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, in the State of New York, and in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Ronald D'Alessandro, Esq.
Founding Member

Ronald (Ron) D'Alessandro was the Founding Member of Keohane & D'Alessandro, PLLC, established in 2008 in Albany, NY. Prior to this venture, he was a Founding Member of Hoffman, Warnick & D'Alessandro PLLC, established in June of 1999, also in Albany, New York.

Mr. D'Alessandro's technical experience included internships with Indian Point 3 Nuclear Power Plant in 1991 and W.L. Gore & Associates (the makers of Gore-Tex®) in 1994.

Since 2002, Mr. D'Alessandro had been a volunteer with the Children's Hospital (D7N) of Albany Medical Center. H had also served on the Hospital Affairs Committee of Albany Medical Center's Board of Directors as well as on Albany Medical Center Foundation's Board of Directors.

Stephen Keohane, Esq.
Founding Member

Stephen Keohane was a Founding Member of Keohane & D'Alessandro, PLLC. Mr. Keohane provided a wide range of counsel to his clients, including patent portfolio analysis, invention mining, patent infringement and validity analysis, patent and trademark application preparation and prosecution, IP audits including open source analysis and acquisition support.

Prior to founding the Firm, Mr. Keohane had worked at Hoffman, Warnick & D'Alessandro, PLLC as a Special Counsel, and at the IBM Lotus Software Division as the Division Intellectual Property Counsel. He had also been previously employed by Lotus Corporation and Texas Instruments, Inc.
